Voter Engagement & Advocacy

The CIViC offers a variety of opportunities for voter engagement and advocacy on campus and in the community!

TurboVote

To increase voter participation, the University of Michigan-Dearborn Partnered with TurboVote, that offers all the information you need to get registered or vote by mail, and will send you text and email reminders so you don't miss an election.

TurboVote contributes to making voting both easier and secure by tracking the user’s registration status and election calendar including local, primary, and presidential elections. If you need to register, TurboVote will mail a pre completed registration form with a pre-addressed pre stamped envelope. If you need to vote by mail, TurboVote will mail you a pre completed absentee ballot request form with a pre-addressed pre stamped envelope. Then TurboVote will send text and email reminders to make sure the forms are sent by the appropriate deadline. And if you’re voting by mail TurboVote will text you a reminder to send in the ballot by the deadline, and if you’re voting in person TurboVote will send text reminders like “tomorrow is your school board election, here is your polling place.”
