Informal group of stakeholders. Group to meet monthly to discuss topics related to Web, content management system upgrades, best practices, continuing education, etc. Attendance is required. Web Coordinator holds meetings with established agenda items. This group has no authority or is involved in developing policy. They are however, the voice of the University and can bring many thoughts and ideas to the table.
Responsible for leading Web Team, informing Core Leadership Team, strategic direction of website, Web research and major initiatives. Oversees Web Coordinator.
Responsible for working in collaboration and coordination with Marketing Director, Information Technology Services, Internal Web Advisory Group and Content Managers to design and maintain an integrated platform, navigation and design template for the website. Manages day-to-day operations of the UM-Dearborn website.
Outside resource for creative design or Web applications that are not available internally. Services are coordinated through Web coordinator and/or directly with the unit that has requested services. All outside development must have the approval from the Core Leadership Team and Information Technology Services. Web Applications Developer may or may not be included on an “approved vendor” list.
ITS is responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of the content management system (CMS). The department also integrates new services, modules, and features into the CMS. ITS creates user accounts and assigns access rights within the CMS. They work with the web coordinator to integrate new templates and web themes into CMS. ITS maintains and supports servers and the campus web infrastructure. They also provide support for the CMS backend processes to local CM-I's and the web coordinator.
Assigned by Dean or Senior Officer. Is responsible for managing and reviewing content and maintaining site architecture and navigation for assigned school/unit. Is point person and “gatekeeper” for all Web activity within school/unit. This person is often responsible for content transfer of new Web pages for the school/unit. Is responsible for disseminating information to Level Two Content Managers. Coordinates and secures proper approvals for transferring school/unit pages/sites into live site with Web Coordinator and Information Technology Services. Has thorough knowledge of the content management system. Responsible for ensuring the accuracy, appropriateness and timeliness of all pages within school/unit. Contacts Web Coordinator for assistance when appropriate. Find the Level One Content Manager in your school/unit.
Assigned by Level One Content Manager, Dean or Senior Officer. Responsible for specific school/unit content, updates and content transfer. Has varied knowledge of the content management system. Must have Level One approval prior to going live with new school/unit pages or newly transferred sites. All Web concerns to be directed to the Level One Content Manager. Directs all questions to the school/unit Level One Content Manager. Training requests to be coordinated through the Level One Content Manager.
Utilize Level One Content Managers for input and guidance on Web related activity. Level One Content Manager can help guide and create websites and assist with navigation and development. Level One Content Manager is the first point of contact for Web communications within your school/unit.
