Author to present "Survivor Memories and the Holocaust: The Case of Starachowice Factory Slave Labor Camps"

DEARBORN---Author and historian Christopher Browning will present "Survivor Memories and the Holocaust: The Case of Starachowice Factory Slave Labor Camps" at 7 p.m. Monday, November 11 in Room 1030, CASL Building as part of the Voice/Vision Holocaust Survivor Oral Histories Project.

A reception will follow the presentation.

The Voice/Vision Holocaust Survivor Oral Histories Project maintains a collection of oral testimonies of those who survived the Holocaust. The testimonies are accessible for educational purposes from the Mardigian Library through interlibrary loan and the Internet.

Browning is the Frank Porter Graham Professor of German History and the Holocaust at the University of North Carolina.

Browning, a highly recognized authority in the field of Holocaust studies, has authored several groundbreaking monographs, including Ordinary Men: Reserve Police Battalion 101 and the Final Solution in Poland and Nazi Policy: Jewish Workers, German Killers.

Browning has served as a scholar-in-residence at the Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C. and in 1999, gave the George Macauley Trevelyan Lectures at Cambridge University.
