Sroka PHONE: (313) 593-5644 DATE: March 14, 2006 Nature enthusiasts can welcome Spring at UM-Dearborn DEARBORN---The Environmental Interpretive Center at the University of
Michigan-Dearborn will host "Spring Saturdays" each weekend
from April 8 through May 27. The program, which is free and open to the public, will run each Saturday
from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and allow visitors to watch spring progress
each week. "We'll see everything from spring wildflower blooms to breeding
amphibians to bird migration and more," said Rick Simek, program
supervisor for the Environmental Interpretive Center. Participants will walk the trails in the campus's Natural Areas. Binoculars
are recommended but not essential. Magnifying glasses will be provided
for close inspection of springtime items. Families with children older than 8 years of age are welcome to attend,
as well as individual spring enthusiasts. "Spring Saturdays" will be held April 8, April 15, April 22,
April 29, May 8, May 15, May 20 and May 27. For more information, call Simek at (313) 583-6371. ####
