Sroka PHONE: (313) 593-5644 DATE: March 3, 2006 Child Development Center to host open house March 22 DEARBORN---The Child Development Center at the University of Michigan-Dearborn
will showcase its programs and specialized day camps during an open house
from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 22 in Room 104 of the Academic
Support Center, located off of the campus's Fair Lane Drive. The event will provide an opportunity to learn about the Child Development
Center's "Explorations in Science" day camp, scheduled for July
10 through July 21, as well as the center's "World Travelers"
day camp, scheduled for July 24 through August 4. During "Explorations in Science," children will experience
two weeks of hands-on science explorations and discoveries while learning
about kitchen chemistry, motion and gravity, air and air pressure, dinosaur
study and paper making. The camp will receive a live animal visit from
Science Alive! A science fair will be held on the last day of camp. During "World Travelers," children will explore aspects of
different cultures and collect stamps in their passport and they "travel"
the globe. Activities will include learning about food, literature, music,
art and language from cultures around the globe. Families can attend a
"world fair" on the last day of camp. The cost of each camp is $335. Those who register prior to April 30 will
