Kathryn Anderson-Levitt appointed interim dean
at UM-Dearborn
Kathryn M. Anderson-Levitt, professor of anthropology
at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, has been appointed interim
dean of the campus's College of Arts, Science, and Letters (CASL)
for a one-year term.

Lawrence Berkove named professor emeritus at
UM-Dearborn
Lawrence I. Berkove, who joined the faculty at the
University of Michigan-Dearborn in 1964, was named professor emeritus
of English language and literature by the U-M Regents at their June
meeting. Berkove retired from active faculty status at the end of

Exhibition showcases Arab and Middle Eastern
heritage
The Center for Arab American Studies (CAAS) at the
University of Michigan-Dearborn will present an art exhibit called
"Diversity in Harmony: Works by American Artists of Arab and
Middle Eastern Heritage" September 8 through October 10 at
the Alfred Berkowitz Gallery on the UM-Dearborn campus. Full

Child Development Center receives grant to support
tuition for at-risk children
The Child Development Center (CDC) on the campus of
the University of Michigan-Dearborn is accepting applications for
at-risk children who would like to attend the CDC's preschool program,
tuition paid, as part of the second year of its $26,400 grant from
the Michigan Department of Education's Michigan School Readiness
