Child Development Center to hold open house
The Early Learning and Child Development Center at
the University of Michigan-Dearborn will host a kindergarten open
house from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11 in the kindergarten
module located south of UM-Dearborn's former Student Services Building,
reached via the campus's Fair Lane Drive west of Evergreen Road.

Mentors needed for 'Women on the Move'
"Women on the Move--College is an Option!"
a program that introduces the University of Michigan-Dearborn to
women receiving services through area non-profit agencies, is looking
for volunteer mentors to assist the 250 metro Detroit women who

Read-in celebrates African American literature
The African and African American Studies Program
at the University of Michigan-Dearborn will present four hours of
continuous readings from the literature of top African American
authors during the fourth annual African American Read-in Chain
from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2 in Room 1030, CASL Building,

Arab and Chaldean American writers featured in
series at UM-Dearborn
Arab and Chaldean American poets, essayists
and journalists will discuss their works and meet with members of
the community during a series of readings presented by the University
of Michigan-Dearborn Center for Arab American Studies this semester.

'Science is done here' is the message of a new
building planned at UM-Dearborn to enhance programs in natural sciences
and science education
Science students and students planning to become K-12
science teachers will benefit from a new $9.6 million building to
be built at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. The design of the
building was approved by the U-M Regents at their meeting in Ann

begins

Students can explore science during "Snooping
Day"
The University of Michigan-Dearborn's Environmental
Interpretive Center will present "Science Snooping Day"
from 1 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7. The free event will allow
children in grades 1 through 12 and their parents to engage in outdoor
science investigations designed to pique curiosity, encourage thoughtful
observation and instill a love of the natural sciences. Full
