Transfer Student Scholarships
New and Improved for 2012! Community College Transfer Scholarships are new and improved, effective for students enrolling in Summer 2012 and later. Students with at least 30 transferable credit hours or an Associate’s Degree from a community college may be eligible dependent upon their transfer GPA calculated by the Office of Admissions and Orientation. Adnan Aswad Transfer Students Endowed Scholarship awards up to three non-renewable scholarships for students with at least 40 credits towards a degree in Industrial and Systems or Manufacturing Engineering. Candidates must have a recalculated GPA of 3.0 or higher. Athletic Scholarships The Athletic Department awards renewable and non-renewable scholarships to athletes in basketball (women and men), and volleyball (women). Eligible candidates are contacted by a University representative. Information on selection criteria can be obtained through the Athletic Department at 313-593-5540. Center for the Education of Women Scholarships (among all three U-M campuses) awards approximately 40 scholarships each year to qualified students who have had at least a 48-month interruption in their education and are now enrolled in a degree program. Chrysler Scholarships are awarded to incoming freshmen and transfer students majoring in engineering or computer science based on earned grades and ACT scores for freshmen. City Year Detroit Alumni Scholarship will be awarded to students who successfully complete the City Year Detroit experience. The scholarship awards up to $5,350 and is matched with Americorps funds. The award is for up to two years (four semesters). Students must be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree. Recipients are expected to enroll full-time (less than full-time enrollment awards will be prorated). Submit City Year documentation to the Director of Admissions and Orientation (1145 University Center). Community Service Personnel Scholarship provides a scholarship valued at 20% of tuition and fees for public safety employees at partnering organizations. The scholarship is available for degree seeking students and can be used for undergraduate and graduate programs. |
Dependent Tuition Scholarship provides scholarship support for tuition only to the IRS-dependent children, spouses, other qualified adults (OQA) and IRS-dependent of OQA of regular part-time and full-time staff and faculty at the University of Michigan-Dearborn (50% appointment or higher). The 50% tuition scholarship is restricted to first time undergraduate study. The application process is through the Office of Admissions and Orientation. This scholarship is restricted to Michigan residents who are U.S. citizens/permanent residents. Michigan residency is defined by the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor Residency. Participants in this program must meet all admission and eligibility requirements of the University in effect at the time of enrollment. |
Ford Motor Company Scholarships are awarded to incoming freshmen and transfer students majoring in engineering or computer science based on earned grades and ACT scores for freshmen. |
Henry Patton Endowed Scholarship awards multiple scholarships to students pursuing degrees in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with the potential for renewal. Non-Residential Scholarship awards a renewable scholarship for the difference between residential and non-residential tuition. An eligible student must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, Canadian citizen or landed immigrant or a Mexican citizen. Transfer students must have a recalculated GPA of 3.5. |
Retired Persons Scholarship Program awards full-tuition scholarships covering tuition and related fees for part-time enrollment. Retired persons who have reached their 60th birthday are eligible to apply. |
