Orientation is designed to help you succeed academically, adjust to collegiate life, and meet new friends and peers along the way. UM-Dearborn has great expectations of you and likewise, you should have great expectations of the University staff and faculty to speed you on your way to earning the degree that makes the difference.

Registration After reviewing all of the information below, register for your orientation session and placement exams by completing and returning the Reservation Form (pdf).
Three Phases of Orientation Purpose The transfer orientation sessions at UM-Dearborn are set up to meet the different schedules of transfer students. We have day and evening programs that emphasize all of the tools you will need in order to be successful. You will - Learn about academics at the University
- Learn about the University’s expectations
- Find out how to get involved on campus
- Meet other incoming students as well as current students who can give you a glimpse into campus life
- Select and register for classes for the upcoming Fall semester
2009 Session Information, Dates and Times The transfer orientation sessions are designed to give you all of the pertinent information you will need to fully prepare yourself for the upcoming semester. The sessions will cover all general aspects of the University. Day and evening sessions are available to accommodate your schedule. The sessions offer an introduction to the student services and departments that are available to help you navigate around the campus. Your academic advisor will advise you in creating your Fall semester schedule. Finally, the Orientation Leaders will help you with web registration so that you can get set with your classes for the Fall semester. All sessions are open to all majors except (certain dates to be established soon) which are available only for students in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters (CASL). - 2009 dates will be made available once set.
