Applying for Admission
The University of Michigan-Dearborn is among the most selective institutions in Michigan. Admission criteria include academic performance in all college course work, specifically grades earned, trend of grades and mix of academic courses. By completing the admissions application, you are automatically considered for transfer scholarships. Transfer student applications are accepted until the first day of classes each semester.

How to Apply 1. Apply online or print and fill out an Application for Admission. You may request that an application be mailed to you by calling 313-593-5100. 2. Attach a check or money order for the $30 non-refundable application fee, unless you previously applied to the University of Michigan Ann Arbor or Flint. 3. Request official transcripts from all colleges and universities you have attended to be sent directly to the University of Michigan-Dearborn. 4. If you have completed fewer than 24 credit hours, submit your high school transcript and test scores. Fill out the High School Transcript Request Form and turn it in to your High School Counselor. 5. Send all materials to the Office of Admissions and Orientation. After you have been admitted to the University, you will receive information about placement exams and transfer orientation. Applicants in the following categories must provide additional information as described within the International Admissions web pages. - You are an F-1 visa student
- You hold another temporary visa (such as F-2, H-4, B-1, B-2, L-1, L-2)
- You hold refugee or asylum status
- You are a permanent resident of the U.S.
- You are a U.S. citizen who is a non-native speaker of English
- You are a U.S.citizen who has attended high school or college outside the U.S.
