The University of Michigan-Dearborn has a strong history of service; a history that the University is proud to honor, strengthen and continue with the opening of the CIViC, the Community Involvement and Volunteerism Center in the fall of 2010.

The CIViC serves as a resource to all students who seek to learn, help and ultimately make a difference in their community.  Going beyond providing volunteer opportunities, the CIViC hopes to provide a framework for students to move along a continuum that begins with direct service and develops into issue specific awareness, education and ultimately advocacy. 

 

 

BREAKING NEWS! 

 

  • The CIViC is running the Holiday Sharing program to provide for foster children in need!  If you want to sponsor a child for the Holidays, please email Amy Karaban today!
  • Monday, November 26th from 12-2pm - SAB will be collecting donations, writing letters, and promoting Winter Blast on the stage (possibly other organizations too)
  • Tuesday, November 27th from 12-2pm - SAB will be collecting donations, giving treats, and promoting Winter Blast on the tables by the CIViC. Letters will still be available.
  • Wednesdsay, November 28th from 12-2pm - (same as Tuesday)
  • Register to Vote with TurboVote and sign up to receive FREE email and text reminders so you never miss an election!
  • The Alternative Spring Break Applications are now available! Deadline to apply is Oct 22, 2012.

*If you are interested in participating in any event or volunteering with the CIViC, email the_civic@umd.umich.edu with your intent to participate or sign up under the Volunteer Service Form, listing the event in which you wish to participate in.
