Testimonials from Staff/Faculty Campaign Contributors
Adele Henry
Executive Assistant to the Chancellor
"I participate in the Faculty and Staff Campaign because I believe in UM-Dearborn. The University has been very good to me for 39 years, and it makes me feel good to give something back.
As staff we represent the University in all our walks of life. If we as “insiders” support the campus and its mission, it is reflected to those on the outside. What a great way to let others know what a special place this is!
I first thought that the amount I could contribute would not be worth it. Why bother? But, I realized that if all of us contributed even a small amount to start, what a difference we could make for students needing scholarships and/or programs needing support. So, although I may not give large amounts, my consistent contributions, along with other contributions, do make a difference. Together we can be the large donor.
This is why I have given in the past, and why I will continue to give in the future!"

"My parents inspired me to get an education and help people however I can. While teaching enables me to help students in the classroom, my contributions allow me to support UM-Dearborn and students in a more personal way. I like the high caliber of UM-Dearborn's students and academic programs and feel my financial support contributes to maintaining this high standard of excellence. This is why I donate to a variety of areas including the CASL Dean's Strategic Initiative Fund, a scholarship for CASL students, and more. As part of this year's Faculty and Staff Campaign, I will be directing my support to a new student scholarship fund in mathematics. Right now students need all the financial help they can get. Contributions to scholarships and programs really make a difference to the students."

"Last year was only the second time I participated in the Faculty and Staff Campaign in my six years at UM-Dearborn. I’ve never been comfortable being asked by my employer to contribute through the workplace, but I enjoyed the ability to see firsthand how my contribution could make a difference. So, I decided to contribute to an existing scholarship fund. This year I agreed to serve as a campaign co-chair so I could get an even closer look at how the process works. It’s interesting to see how my involvement makes a difference."
