The purpose of this assignment is to create an annotated bibliography of
science resources. You are encourage to locate and review a range of
resource that you might use in your career as a teacher of science in an
elementary or middle school. In order to ensure that the resources you
collect now will be of maximum use to you as a teacher, you must follow the
guidelines below:
Include at least 15 resources. (Anything that will directly assist
you in being a better teacher of science will qualify as a resource; just be
able to describe how you would use it in your teaching.)
Include a short annotation of each resource (approximately one
paragraph), including:
- A brief description of the resource
- How you might use the resource
- Strengths of the resource (what makes it useful over other similar
resources available)
Use the American Psychological Association (APA) citation format for
each resource.
You can purchase the Publication Manual of the APA or print out portions
of it from our library internet resources websites (http://libraryweb.umd.umich.edu/lib/internet.html),
"Guides to Citing Sources - APA" or the University of Colorado-Boulder
library website (http://www-libraries.colorado.edu/ttp/ser/guides/citation-menu.htm).
If you include resources from electronic sources (i.e., web pages or web
sites) be sure to note the special form for citing these documents.
You may organize the resources in your bibliography alphabetically, by
topic or by type of resource.
Your document must be saved as an html document. Text must be 12
point font.
See rubric
for details of how the grade will be determined.
