Linking Concepts Across Disciplines

This component of your portfolio should be at least 500 words in length. Your description should look at one "big idea" in science in terms of at least two different science disciplines or courses. Ideally, the "big idea" should be the one addressed in the Capstone course (EXPS 420) but this is not a requirement. Your description should include a discussion or summary of the "big idea" (what is it, how is it defined, why it is a "big idea", why you think the concept is a "big idea" and why is it important for student to know this "big idea"). The next parts of your description must describe how the "big idea" is used within two different science disciplines or courses. In your discussion you should include website addresses or links, if relevant, and you should include concepts that are important to the discipline. Your description must be at a college level and must demonstrate your understanding of the "big idea" in terms of that scientific discipline.

In addition to these content components, there are two structural components that must be met:

The content must be formatted as an html document, and

References cited must be formatted in APA or MLA style (In this SEP component, you may cite lecture notes or information from textbooks used in courses.)
