All degree candidates who participate in the Commencement must wear academic attire. Caps and gowns are available for purchase at Barnes and Noble Bookstore.
Announcements may be purchased at the Barnes and Noble Bookstore, Room 1255 University Center.

Diplomas will be mailed to the graduate's permanent address (unless different address is requested Diploma on the Degree/Diploma Application Form) approximately two months after graduation.
The Commencement Exercises will be held in the Fieldhouse/Arena. The College of Engineering and Computer Science and School of Management ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m. The College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters and School of Education ceremony will begin at 2:30 p.m. Each ceremony is expected to last approximately 1½ hours.
Photographs of all participating candidates will be taken by Chappell Graduation Images, Inc. during the program. Degree candidates will also have the option to have a portrait taken prior to the beginning of the ceremony. Participants will receive a free proof and can order additional photographs.
Description cards will be distributed to all graduates in the Wellness Center. The photographers will collect the description cards before the portrait is taken in the Wellness Center. The proof and order card will be mailed.

Admission to the Commencement ceremony is by ticket only. Ticket distribution will begin on the first day of the Graduation Fair. Tickets will be available at the Graduation Fair as well as distributed from the Enrollment Services counter, 1169 UC. Please see the Graduation Fair section for more information.
Participating graduates must purchase their caps and gowns before they will be issued tickets. To obtain tickets, graduates must present their receipt from the purchase of their cap and gown along with their UMID.
Degree candidates who are unable to pick up tickets (due to off-campus work or internship) may authorize a family member or friend to pick up their tickets. You must provide written authorization for this individual to pick up your tickets. They must also have the receipt from the purchase of your cap and gown.
There will be no extra tickets available.
A videotape of Commencement highlights will be available for purchase through the Dearborn Campus Video. Please allow 8 - 10 weeks for delivery. To order, please fill out the Order Form located on the last page or call Campus Video at 313-593-5479.
