Welcome to my e-portfolio! My name is Tonja Marvin. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education from the University of Michigan-Dearborn in December of 2002. In addition, I also have a certification in mathematics and language arts. My student teaching experience took place in a 4th and 5th grade classroom at Stuckey Elementary in the Redford Union School District. |

This school is located in Redford, Michigan. During student teaching, all of my time and energy was devoted to my eleven 5th graders and sixteen 4th graders. Since I taught in a split class, my mathematics unit was developed solely for my 4th graders. As for technology, there is one computer lab which contains 35 computers in this school. There are two computers in the classroom. After surveying the technology available at Stuckey Elementary, I submitted the School Technology & Readiness (STaR) Charts survey and discovered that it rates at the mid technology level. There are only two computers in each classroom, which had programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint installed on each. Although most of the students in my classroom did have computer access in the home, they revealed a wide range of abilities when it came to creating products using technology. |
