				Welcome! I am a second grade teacher with the Southfield Public School System. I have been with the district for six years. Prior to that I taught in the Detroit Public Schools.  I completed my undergraduate work at the University of Detroit-Mercy.  I expect to complete my Master of Arts in Education from the University of Michigan-Dearborn in August 2004. Our school is a K-5 school with approximately 400 students. I have 23 students in a self-contained classroom. I teach all subjects except for Library, Music, Art and Gym. This semester I also have a student teacher form the University of Michigan-Dearborn. The STaR Chart rated my school at a mid technology level.  We have three computers in our classroom and two printers. There are several teachers who are quite proficient with technology while some like me, are just beginning to implement it regularly.  My Principal is very supportive and encourages the use of technology throughout the curriculum.  I use computers, calculators, and the overhead as instructional tools. I also use the t.v., vcr, cd player and tape recorder regularly.  I recently purchased a digital camera and photo printer to send pictures to our pen pals in North Carolina .
