EXHIBIT INDEX
Note: Each autobiographical timeline book began with students completing a four square worksheet before beginning the pages of the book. Each book consisted of a hand drawn and colored cover, an introductory page consisting of a current digital picture with text, a scanned baby picture with text, template completed in pencil and crayons plus illustration, template with Kid Pix picture and page with sentence completey written by student in Kid Pix or AppleWorks. Books were laminated and bound for presentation to the class. While doing this unit, I learned that every child works at a different pace. Therefore, it was helpful to have several pages for them to work on as they finished each page. The activity chart was a great help for keeping track of their work. When doing this unit again, I would definitely use this chart.
1. Activity chart. This
form of assessment helped greatly in detailing the progress of the students.
during the creation of their books.
2. Andrea's, Jonathan's and
Dion's book covers. These covers, created by the students with
crayons and markers, were then scanned to
the computer.
3. Dion's template. This
template effectively uses stamps from Kid Pix to create a picture coupled
with AppleWorks text.
4. Mona's template about age 6, riding
her bike. This is another example of a template used in her
book.
5. Pam working with students on
project. These two pictures show Pam helping students with their
projects.
6. Seth snowboarding.
This is an example of a Kid Pix drawing coupled with text done in
AppleWorks.
7. STaR chart results. This
shows how Garfield Elementary's technology compares with other
schools in the area.
8. Taelour's book. This
is an example of the finished project created by the younger students who
made an autobiographical timeline book.
9. Taelour's four square worksheet.
This worksheet was completed to give the students ideas for
completing their books.
