Lesson Plan Four: PowerPoint Presentation

National Educational Technology Standards:

    1. Basic operations and concepts

            1. Use keyboards and other common input and output devices (including adaptive devices when necessary) efficiently and effectively.

    3. Technology productivity tools

    4. Technology communication tools

            5. Use technology tools for individual and collaborative writing, communication, and publishing activities to create knowledge products for audiences inside and outside the classroom.

 

Objectives:

    -Students will organize their research into a PowerPoint presentation.

 

Materials:

    -LCD projector

    -Computer Lab (30 computers)

    -PowerPoint software

 

Purpose:

    -Students will become more familiar with many different aspects of Japan by listening to their peers as they present their PowerPoint presentation.

 

Anticipatory Set:

   -Teacher will take students to the computer lab and quickly discuss the different topics that will be presented to them.

 

Check for Understanding:  [Will occur after each presentation]

   -Teacher will ask each presenter specific questions about their particular topic.  Teacher will also ask the audience specific questions about the speech to make sure all students were paying attention.

 

Modeling:

   -Teacher will model how to run the PowerPoint (Students are familiar with this since they each created their own PowerPoint presentation).

 

Independent Practice:

   -Each student will have 2 minutes to present their PowerPoint project to the class.

 

Closure:

   -Teacher will ask for any questions at this time.  She will also ask students a few more questions to check for understanding.
