My Professional Background

My name is Mahmoud Abu-Rus.  I am a fifth grade teacher at Salina Elementary in the Dearborn Public schools. I started my career as a bilingual paraprofessional helping students in grades 1 – 5. In 1998, I graduated from Wayne State University with a bachelor degree in science. This year is my fifth year teaching 5^th grade level, and also marks my first participation in the Mitten program. Integrating technology into the teaching of the various content areas made all students excited and motivated to learn.  I’m proud to be part of this program and looking forward for future opportunities such as this one to improve my technology skills as well as the students I teach.
