Introduction Overview  Narratives Exhibits Reflection
Welcome to our adventures in measurement!

The purpose of our unit was for students to learn more about measurement.  Measurement is a unit in our Science Curriculum.
Many of our students were introduced to measurement in Kindergarten and first grade,  using non-standard units.  They have used unifex cubes, paper clips, and a variety of other objects to measure things around the classroom and home.
In second grade, they are ready to learn about other ways to measure. Our students learned about different measurement tools, as well as, how and when to use them.  These tools included a scale, measuring cup, measuring tape, and a ruler.  Students gained an appreciation for the concept of measurement and improved their understanding of standard units.
My exhibits will include lesson plans, graphing results, a class book, webs of prior and post knowledge, and photographs of our scientists in action.
