Introduction Overview  Narratives Exhibits Reflection
Mitten Reflection

I felt that the lessons that I taught to the children were very appropriate for their age level.  Due to the age of the children, I do not believe they were fully aware of the technology that was used to enhance the lessons, but they were excited about seeing themselves on the television screen and seeing their pictures on the pages of the book.  When I used the digital camera to take pictures of the children, they immediately wanted to see their picture on the screen.  I felt that this showed they had an interest in the technology I was using to enhance their lessons.  Through these lessons the children gained a lot of new language along with identifying the names and faces of their friends.
Since most of of my lessons did not involve the children directly using technology, I felt that the way we used technology benefited us as professionals, the parents, and the children.  In addition to the lessons that were taught, we also provided many other technology related activities that enhanced parent communication.  I felt that the concept maps, parent letters, and documentation panels that were created using technology were very beneficial for the parents.  It allowed them to see what was going on in the classroom since many of their children do not have the language to tell them themselves.
Through the MITTEN project I learned how important using technology to enhance a classroom is to even the youngest of learners.  Even if the classroom does not have a computer, there are many ways in which technology can be incorporated to benefit both the children and the parents.
