National Educational Technology Standards for All Teachers

Standard 1: Technology Operating and Concepts
     Teachers demonstrate a sound understanding of technology operations and concepts.

      A: Teachers will demonstrate introductory knowledge, skills, and understanding of            concepts related to technology.
    
Demonstrating how the KidPix software works to the students ie, what the icons mean, and how to use a mouse.

      B. Teachers will demonstrate continual growth in technology knowledge and skills to stay abreast of current and emerging technologies.
     
Used the internet to research the tree unit, ie; giant Sequoia tree
Used  a digital camera to  record students work. 
 

Standard 2: Planning and Designing Learning Environments and Experiences
      Teachers plan and design effective learning environments and experiences supported by technology.

      A. Teachers will design developmentally appropriate learning opportunities that apply technology enhanced instructional strategies to support the diverse needs of learners.

Using the Kindergarten  Math and Science curriculum guidelines  and including a technology piece in all of the lesson plans
Introduction to KidPix - Math, Science, Language Arts
Exploring Trees - Science  living vs non living
Adopting  a Tree- Science,Math Graphing Skill
KidPix Tree Drawing-  Science ,parts of a tree
The Great Sequoia Tree- Math, graphing skill      

        C. Identify and locate technology resources and evaluate them for accuracy and suitability.

Used the internet to help research the giant Sequoia tree.

         E. Teachers will plan strategies to manage student learning in a technology enhanced environment.
 
Use of the software program KidPix  in both a one-to-one learning environment as well as group learning environment to demonstrate their understanding of trees. 

Standard 5: Productivity and Professional Practice
Teachers use technology to enhance their productivity and professional practice.

     A. Teachers will use technology resources to engage in ongoing professional development and lifelong learning.

Development  of the E-Portfolio ,including the E-journal  to describe lesson plans and student learning  outcomes.
