Welcome to my MITTEN e-portfolio!

After 20 years in research and development in various capacities where I worked in the vitamins and flavor & fragrance industries, I decided to retire very early. Before retirement, I had become very active as an official tutor for the America Online® Ask-A-Teacher community. Having been bitten by the teaching bug and with teaching as another career always a consideration, I entered the Master of Arts in Teacher program at the University of Michigan-Dearborn in the fall of 2002. With degrees in biochemistry and chemistry, I was already set with my major as chemistry and my minor as biology. I began my student teaching experience one year later at Redford Union High School along with participation in the Michigan Teachers' Technology Education Network (MITTEN) program at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. I had the benefit and pleasure of working with Kim Taylor-Papp, my cooperating teacher. She is a 14-year teaching veteran and presently the science chair at Redford Union.

Please use the links to the left to navigate my journey with Kim where we introduce alternative ways to visualize molecules in General Biology. To fully appreciate this unit, you will want to get the Chime plugin. A link to where this plugin can be found is on the Resources page.
