Teaching is the profession that creates all others. |
Welcome
to my e-portfolio!
My name is Jennifer C. Cherry. I attend the University of Michigan-Dearborn I am studying for a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Science. As part of my degree work, I have had experience in the districts of Southfield, Detroit, Redford Union, Birmingham, and Dearborn. On my last leg of my journey, I am assuming the role of student teacher in a 4th grade classroom at Stuckey Elementary School in the Redford Union School District. This district is located in Redford, Michigan. Most of my time is spent working with and for my students. My classroom consists of 27 students, 13 boys and 14 girls that range from 9 to 11 years of age. The students also have a wide range of abilities. This kept me on my toes and made the experience interesting. Stuckey Elementary has very limited technology. The STaR Chart shows that the school is at the Mid-Tech level on their technology rating system. The limited availability of technology caused a few bumps along the road. This project was also part of a Science Education Portfolio (SEP)
that is now required at the University
of Michigan-Dearborn. That portfolio is a culmination of research
projects. This technology integration project is also part
of the Action Research part of that portfolio.
