OVERVIEW
Introduction Overview Narratives Exhibits Reflection

Our class read Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing by Judy Blume.  In this book, Peter Hatcher, a fourth grader, has a little brother, "Fudge," who is the source of many of Peter's frustrations and irritations.  Most fourth graders with siblings will relate to Peter's many predicaments.

Our activites included using the program Kidspiration to make a character analysis and a character comparison between two of the characters in the book.

We also had students break up into groups and design a PowerPoint presentation detailing a favorite "scene" from the book.  Students had to prepare props and bring in costumes to act out these scenes.  The digital images we took of these scenes became the basis for their presentations.

Finally, students broke up into different groups and had to model after Peter's father, Mr. Hatcher, who is an advertising executive and write a commerical for a product of their choice.  We videotaped each commercial and used Apple's IMovie to produce a commercial for viewing.
