Standard 1: Technology Operating and Concepts

Teachers demonstrate a sound understanding of technology operations and concepts. 

    A.  Teachers will demonstrate introductory knowledge, skills, and understanding of concepts related to technology. 

We demonstrated how to use Kidspiration and PowerPoint to our students.  Students worked in groups to complete a PowerPoint presentation and were responsible for the color, text, layout, transitions and special effects of their slides.

    B.  Teachers will demonstrate continual growth in technology knowledge and skills to stay abreast of current and emerging technologies. 

I learned how to use a digital camera and import images to PowerPoint.  I learned how to use a digital video camera in conjunction with Apple's IMovie to produce and assist in the editing of our students' commercials.  I burned several CDs and learned about archiving digital movies.
 

Standard 5: Productivity and Professional Practice

Teachers use technology to enhance their productivity and professional practice. 

     A.  Teachers will use technology resources to engage in ongoing professional development and lifelong learning. 

I developed an E-Portfolio.  I attended several technology workshops which helped me get learn how to use IMovie.  I am currently involved in setting up a technology program at our school which will promote the use of technology by more teachers and students in our building.  Read more about this program on my REFLECTION page.
