I. OBJECTIVES:
Students will be able to present their information in an Excel Graph.
II. MATERIALS:
Microsoft Excel, Worksheet from Lesson 3 with class final counts.

D.RE.04.03 Solve problems using data presented in tables and bar graphs. E.g. compare data represented in two bar graphs showing 2 data sets.

III. PROCEDURE:
a. Purpose
To give students practice presenting information in different forms. Microsoft Excel allows the students to easily graph information.
b. Anticipatory Set
The teacher will remind the students of the previous lesson where they counted the number of polygons in different locations within the school building.
c. Questions to check for understanding
· What are some of the shapes we found?
· What shape was found most often?
· Can anyone explain how we get started creating a graph in Excel?
d. Modeling Activity
· Have the students begin by putting their data into the Microsoft Excel program.
· Once their data is complete they should use Chart Wizard to create a bar graph.
· After completing their bar graph, the students should insert one of the pictures taken to illustrate the types of shapes found.
e. Guided and Independent Practice
The students will work on their projects independently. The teacher will circulate to be certain students are using the program properly.
f. Closure Activity
The teacher will review volunteer students’ graphs on the projector to show the others what they have created. The students will explain their work.
