Reflection
Reviewing what the students did in the plant unit before we incorporated technology and when we had, I found that the non-verbal students shone with this new addition to the unit. They were able to communicate their learnings through the computer, which was not an option in the previous years. Using the different computer programs, we were able to access different intelligences, which is supportive of the multiple intelligence theory. For example, the digital camera enabled the children see themselves, or their work, at that moment. It also enabled us to revisit lessons and refresh our ideas that were learned. The children who were very active in computer use at home felt very comfortable with the computer lessons we had them complete. Computers were a wonderful tool for the classroom, however, it will never replace a good teacher. It will, however, enhance a learning experience.
