In the classroom during regular lessons and activities some students can be easily distracted and not motivated. However, during lessons involving technology students were eager to explore and complete the activities. It was also great to see the collaboration between peers when using the computers. I felt that students were proud to help their classmates and it became a true learning community. Throughout the unit, I felt that objectives were met and students were able to accomplish the activities and that they were proud of their products of learning. This project has helped
me to see how important it is for students to participate in activities
that involve the use of technology. Children learn in various ways
and have various needs; therefore, implementing different teaching techniques
will increase the teacher’s ability to reach all of the children.
I have also learned that at moments you might feel overwhelmed and frustrated
when incorporating technology into teaching but more importantly I have
learned that overcoming these obstacles (printer connections) leads to
great results and rewards (see the children’s work)!
