handouts directing events:
From 4:00-4:30 we will register for the day's event at or near the entrance to Dining Room B of the Fairlane Center South (FCS). Greet each other in FCS Dining Rooms B and C, and take time to find your name on a green sheet (to be provided upon registration) and perhaps to take a look at the program (also to be provided at registration), noting particularly the entries of the others with whom you will meet in the first session, as declared on the green sheet. We will commence with …
opening remarks promptly at 4:30, also in FCS Dining Rooms B and C.
At 4:40, we will move to our first sessions of breakout, meeting from 4:40-5:40. The green sheet to be provided will identify room assignments in addition to groupings. These sessions are self-directed by the groups. Refer to a blue sheet (also to be provided at registration) for brief instructions on this self-direction process. Each participant has about 10 minutes during the first session to share some aspects of their projects with the others in the group. Attendees will make observations and take notes as provided for on the blue sheet. A group-appointed timekeeper should dismiss the session at 5:40 for transition to the next sessions.
A second set of sessions, from 5:45-6:20, will call incoming MITTEN participants together in FCS Dining Room B while the current members of MITTEN will meet in FCS Dining Room C. Each of these groups will take some time in smaller groupings sharing some observations and remarks recorded during the first sessions. These sessions will be guided by MITTEN leadership members; the final 10 minutes is reserved for necessary administrative business and will be conducted by MITTEN staff in time for adjournment at 6:30.
