Listed below are study abroad programs geared specifically to UM-Dearborn students:

 

Asia

Japan-Shiga (http://www.isp.msu.edu/JCMU/)
Description:
Students wishing to learn the Japanese language and learn about Japanese culture may study at the Japan Center for Michigan Universities (JCMU) in Hikone, Shiga Prefecture, Japan.  Classes are taught in English, except for Japanese language classes.  Students pay tuition at UM-D. UM-D financial aid and UM-D scholarships apply to the program.  UM-D students receive US$1,700 scholarship from JCMU.  The scholarship applies to the program fees.

Europe

Finland – Helsinki (http://www.hse.fi/EN)      
Description: 
Helsinki School of Economics.  Students may study business courses at HSE and receive credits at UM-D.  Students pay tuition at UM-D. UM-D financial aid and UM-D scholarships apply to the program.

Description:
ESCEM Business School. Students may study business courses at ESCEM, a leading private university with campuses in Tours and Poitiers. Fixed slates of courses in English are available each semester.

Description: 
University of Versailles.  Students may study courses in the area of Sciences and Technology, Humanities and Social Sciences.  Students pay tuition at UM-D. UM-D financial aid and UM-D scholarships apply to the program.

Description: 
CECS students may study for two months at Hochschule Ulm University of Applies Sciences.  Students pay tuition at UM-D. UM-D financial aid and UM-D scholarships apply to the program.

Description: 
University of Padova.  Students may study in courses jointly taught by UM-D faculty and the University of Padova faculty.  Students pay tuition at UM-D.  UM-D financial aid and UM-D scholarships apply to the program.

Description:
University of Oviedo.  Students may study at the University of Oviedo, in Oviedo, Spain.  Students pay tuition at UM-D. UM-D financial aid and UM-D scholarships apply to the program.

Description: 
University of Oviedo.  Students may study Spanish at the University of Oviedo from July to September.  Program fees are between 600 £ and 1200 £ pay to U. of Oviedo.

Spain-Valencia                             
Description:
  Students who successfully complete two Upper Level classes (300+) will receive six hour of Upper Level credit in Spanish when they return for classes at UM-D.   The program fees $3,200 in summer 2009 includes tuition, cultural activities and excursions, room and full board with a host family, and medical insurance.

Description:
Jönköping University.  CECS students may study for up to one year at the School of Engineering in Jönköping University in Jönköping, Sweden as part of a student exchange program.  Technical courses are taught in English.  Students pay tuition at UM-D. UM-D financial aid and UM-D scholarships apply to the program.

Africa 

Ghana                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Description: Spring Break in Ghana offers students a compact ourse on the social, cultural an political history of Ghana.

North America

Canada-Ottowa Political Internship (http://www.umd.umich.edu/ottawainternship/ )
Description:  The Ottawa Internship Program provides first-hand experience with the House of Commons in Ottawa, Canada.  Students work in a Member of Parliament’s office for five weeks.
