Mission Statement

The mission of the English Language Proficiency Program  is to provide quality English language education and an orientation to the academic culture of te United States for non-native speakers of Standard American English.

Basic Program Description

The ELPP offers small classroom learning and provides an awareness of United States culture and the diversity found with the surrounding community through an array of internal and external programs. This intensive program consists of 18 class hours per week of beginning-level through advanced-level instruction. Courses are taught by highly qualified instructors who have expertise in teaching various disciplines of the English language. Beginning and intermediate classes teach communicative skills and integrate listening, speaking and pronunciation, reading, writing and grammar. Advanced classes continue to reinforce general communication skills while emphasizing academic skills.
