Winter 2013 Orientation for New Students

Orientation is mandatory for all international students who are attending the University of Michigan-Dearborn for the first time.

 F1 and J1 students/scholars are allowed to enter the country 30 days before their program start date. They cannot enter after the start date. Come early for orientation and registration.

 Orientation will take place over a four-day period, Wednesday, January 2nd, Thursday, January 3rd, Friday, January 4th, & Friday, January 11th.

(Orientation will take place the week prior o the first day of class, Monday, January 7th)

DATE:  Wednesday, January 2nd

TIME: 12:00 – 4:00 pm, 

LOCATION: University Center - Kochoff Hall C

  • SEVIS Check in. You must bring the following items: passport, visa, I-94,   I20 or DS-2019, & U.S. address.
  •  Bank/Credit Union/Housing Department 
  •  Physical Presence Form

DATE: Thursday, January 3rd 

LOCATION: University Center – Room 1225 

TIME: 9:00 am – 11:30 am 

  • SEVIS Check in (If you did not attend on Wednesday, January 2nd)  
  • You must bring the following items: passport, visa, I-94, I20 or DS-2019, & U.S. address. 
  • Physical Presence Form (if you did not attend on Wednesday, January 2nd)

TIME: 12:00 – 3:00 pm 

  • Unique name and email address
  • Student I.D.
  • Campus Tour (Optional)
  • Housing Department (Optional)

DATE: Friday, January 4th

TIME:  9:00 am – 2:30 pm 

LOCATION: University Center – Kochoff Hall C

  • Academic Advising (Determine Class Schedule for first semester)
  • Register for classes
  • Bank/Credit Union

Date: Friday, January 11th 

Time: 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Winter 2013 Orientation for Transfers and Late Arrivals

 

This Orientation is for students who have been studying in the U.S. and are Transfer Students to the University of Michigan-Dearborn. It is also for Late Comers who are unable to attend the official Orientation program January 2nd – 4th & Friday, January 11th. You must attend both days, Monday, January 7th and Friday, January 11th, 2013. The Government Regulations workshop is required for all International students new to the University of Michigan-Dearborn.

TIME: 9:00 am – 4:30 pm 

LOCATION: University Center – Kochoff Hall C
