Programs

Partners Plus provides students with many services, such as: tutoring, mentoring, advising, financial assistance, and guidance in life and study skills through workshops and student retreats. The following initiatives benefit program students far beyond their college experience.

Project Second Step
An urban outreach project sponsored by Ford Motor Company and Fast Switch, Ltd. that provides students in Information Technology with opportunities to complete a four-year college degree while working at Ford Motor Company. The students accepted into this program will receive full tuition and a flexible work schedule.

Saving for Success
Our financial literacy training. This is a partnership between Partners Plus, Michigan Neighborhood Partnership, and Ford Motor Company. Students must complete 20 hours of financial literacy training and save $500. Partners Plus along with our partners will match the students' saving 2 for 1. Meaning if they save $500 towards their tuition, we will give them a $1,000 scholarship toward their tuition. That is a 200% return on their savings.

S.T.A.M.P.
(St. John Detroit Riverview Academic Mentoring Partnership) Program is a partnership with St. John Detroit Riverview Hospital, UM-Dearborn's Student National Medical Association (SNMA), and Wayne State University's Bridges Program. This program allows undergraduate students the opportunity to: have a mentor and shadow a physician within St. John Detroit Riverview Hospital. Also, students are allowed to shadow resident doctors as they go through their hospital routines for one year. This program brings college students who want to be future doctors together with doctors at St. John Detroit Riverview Hospital. The goal is to increase the number of underrepresented students going into the medical field and ensure that they get the support needed early in their college curriculum to complete a challenging major.
