TRANSFER AND CURRENT STUDENTS
English Composition Placement Exams
Regardless of the total number of credits or if you have taken the equivalent of Composition 105 or Composition 106, you must take the English placement exam to fulfill the requirement for graduation. You will be given two hours to type a response in essay format to a two-page selection from a published author. Please keep in mind that there is no “correct” response to the question. This exam can only be taken once. The exam should be completed prior to attending orientation but no later than the first six weeks of your first semester. It will take approximately 2-3 weeks to receive your English Composition examination results.
Mathematics Placement Exams
Mathematics placement exam is required if you are an incoming freshman or a transfer student not transferring a Calculus I or higher equivalent course with an earned grade of a C or better. Unlike the English Composition exam, you can take the Mathematics placement exam up to 2 times. This exam helps place you into the appropriate Mathematics level.
