New Student Convocation at the University of Michigan-Dearborn

Online sign up for the New Student Convocation is no longer available. If you are interested in attending the event and have not signed up, please feel free to attend without a reservation.

Freshman students need to be on campus at 8:30 a.m. for check-in at the Social Sciences Building. Transfer students will need to be at the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters Building at 9:30 a.m.
Graduate students
need to check in at 12:00 p.m. at the CASL Building.

The Office of Admissions and Orientation formally welcomes new students to the University of Michigan-Dearborn at the New Student Convocation.  Please join this celebration of the beginning of a new academic year.

Freshman Students:

Chancellor Little

Prior to the Convocation ceremony, a Student Success Workshop has been designed to position you for success as you begin your university experience.  You will get advice on how to study for classes, manage your time, and keep healthy in your first year.  Following lunch, the formal Convocation ceremony will recognize your transition into the UM-Dearborn community.  Please plan to check in at 8:30 am at the Social Sciences Building.

Transfer Students: 

Prior to the Convocation ceremony, the Transfer Success Seminar is a series of sessions designed to give you the academic and social edge as you acclimate to your new community. UM-Dearborn looks forward to welcoming you to campus at the Convocation ceremony.  Please plan to check in at 9:30 am at the CASL Building.

Graduate Students:
