DEARBORN / Feb. 20, 2009---UM-Dearborn has ranked among the Top 100 “Best Values in Public Colleges” according to Kiplinger, a Washington, D.C.-based publisher of business forecasts and personal finance advice.

According to its Web site, Kiplinger bases its college rankings on a combination of outstanding academic quality and an affordable price tag.

“In these unprecedented economic times, students and their families are deeply concerned about the value of their education,” according to Stanley Henderson, vice chancellor of enrollment management and student life. “Kiplinger's recognition of UM-Dearborn's academic quality and affordability provides excellent evidence that ‘the degree that makes the difference’ is not just an empty slogan.”

UM-Dearborn placed 86th on the list. U-M Ann Arbor and Michigan State University were the only other Michigan schools to make the list.
