Spanish author to visit UM-Dearborn March 17 for discussion on "Freedom and Inner Writing"

DEARBORN / March 14, 2008---Spanish author Ignacio Carrion will visit the University of Michigan-Dearborn on March 17 to present a talk about “Freedom and Inner Writing.”
The program, which is free and open to the public, will take place at 3:30 p.m. in Room 1085 of the campus’s College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters Building.
A novelist and journalist, Carrion recently published his diaries criticizing power structures, political figures, mass media and hegemonic individuals before and after Francisco Franco’s dictatorial regime, according to Jorge Gonzalez Del Pozo, assistant professor of humanities at UM-Dearborn.
Carrion is the winner of the 1995 Nadal Prize for his novel Cruzar el Danubio. He’s a journalist for the internationally recognized newspapers El Pais, ABC and Le Monde.
