'A Conversation on Race' will feature stories from individuals in interracial relationships and biracial children

March 7, 2008

DEARBORN / March 7---Interracial relationships will be the focus of “A Conversation on Race,” an ongoing discussion series held each semester to promote open, honest conversation about racial issues, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, March 14 at the University of Michigan-Dearborn.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place in the University Center’s Kochoff Hall, located off of the campus’s Richard Drive.

“This topic of interracial relationships will be different from any other ‘Conversation on Race’ because it is a personal discussion of stories from individuals in interracial relationships and biracial children,” according to Cory Anderson, student activities supervisor at UM-Dearborn.

The event is sponsored by UM-Dearborn’s Student Activities Office and New Detroit, a coalition of Detroit-area leaders who focus on the issue of race relations and economic and social equity.
