Philip M. Roussey named Distinguished Alumnus of the Year

Monte Sereno resident Philip M. Roussey receives alumni award from UM-Dearborn

DEARBORN / July 27, 2007---Philip M. Roussey, executive vice president of worldwide marketing for Bell Microproducts Inc., received the Distinguished Alumnus of the Year Award from the College of Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Michigan-Dearborn in a ceremony this spring.

Roussey is executive vice president of worldwide marketing for Bell Microproducts Inc. in San Jose, Calif. He is one of four people who co-founded Bell Microproducts in 1987. From 1988 to 1993, he served as the company’s vice president of marketing. Roussey then served as senior vice president of computer products marketing, was promoted to executive vice president of computer products marketing and later became executive vice president of the Enterprise Division. Today, Bell Microproducts is a publicly traded company with $4 billion in revenues, doing business in North and South America and Europe.

Roussey graduated from UM-Dearborn in 1966 with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and earned a master’s degree in computer science from Southern Methodist University. Roussey serves on the Chancellor’s Capital Campaign Council, helping to create connections for UM-Dearborn in Silicon Valley.

Roussey is a resident of Monte Sereno, Calif.
