Early Childhood Education Center open house
UM-Dearborn's Early Childhood Education Center will host a kindergarten readiness workshop and open house on Thursday, Feb. 12
DEARBORN / Jan. 27, 2009---The University of Michigan-Dearborn’s Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC) will host a kindergarten readiness workshop and open house from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12 at the ECEC, located at 18501 Rotunda Dr., Suite 300 between the Southfield Freeway and Oakwood Boulevard.
Workshop participants will learn what makes a quality kindergarten program and what parents can do at home to support a child’s school experience. During the open house, visitors will view the ECEC kindergarten classroom and meet the teacher. Parents also can learn about the ECEC’s individualized, active-learning program in a stimulating environment with an excellent teacher/child ratio. Full-day and half-day sessions are available.
At the open house, the ECEC will be accepting applications for its 2009-2010 kindergarten program. Kindergarten applicants must be 5 years old by Dec. 1, 2009. For more information, contact the ECEC at 313-593-5424.
