UMGALAS Scholarships
The University of Michigan Gay and Lesbian Alumni Society (UMGALAS) awards two $500 scholarships each Fall and Winter Semesters to currently enrolled students. The Detroit Eagle Gay Community and Jim Toy Scholarships are awarded to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) student who have demonstrated leadership, support or involvement in organizations, activities or issues that benefit the LGBT communities, especially LGBT communities of color (Toy).
Students must be full-time undergraduate or graduate in good standing at any campus of the University of Michigan. The application is available as a PDF.
The deadline for Fall is in November.
The deadline for Winter 2006 is March 24, 2006.
