Michigan Competitive Scholarship
The Michigan Competitive Scholarship is one of the State of Michigan’s oldest programs supporting students who demonstrate both need and merit. This renewable scholarship awards up to $1,300.
Eligibility -
Must take the ACT by December of high school senior year -
Must have a qualifying ACT score (normally a sum total of 90 of all four test components—but can vary each year) -
File the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) by February 14th for first priority consideration (Students can apply at www.fafsa.ed.gov or use a paper FAFSA) -
Demonstrate financial need at the first choice Michigan college listed on the FAFSA
To Renew -
Must complete the FAFSA annually by February 14th for first priority consideration -
Must demonstrate need at the first choice Michigan college listed on the FAFSA -
Must make satisfactory academic progress based on Office of Financial Aid standards and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 at the end of each school year -
Students may receive up to ten full-time semesters of Michigan Competitive Scholarship -
Students must utilize scholarship eligibility within ten years of high school graduation
