Emerging Leaders Program 2007-2008

About the program

The University of Michigan-Dearborn Emerging Leaders Program offers cooperative education/internship students a unique opportunity to develop personal leadership knowledge and skills.  Building on a variety of leadership concepts, students are given the opportunity to meet with community leaders, work in small teams and develop personal leadership skills. The program will culminate with a Leadership Summit where we will invite community leaders to come to campus and share their perspectives of leadership with a larger community.

Student participants will:

  1. Attend all sessions,
  2. Create a leadership development plan and supporting action plan,
  3. Maintain a portfolio of material developed,
  4. Apply the concepts in a work environment,
  5. Participate in an exit interview with one of the Program Directors,
  6. Contribute to the production of, and participate in, the Leadership Summit in April, and
  7. Submit a final evaluation of the program upon completion,
  8. Earn a Certificate of Merit upon successful completion of the Emerging Leaders Program.
