Employment at the EIC

Each year, the Center receives hundreds of requests from schools and community groups who would like to participate in our free educational programs on the environment. Due to this high demand for its programs, the Center relies on UM-Dearborn students to assist with program delivery.

As a part-time member of our interpretive staff, you will receive training concerning the principles of environmental interpretation and inquiry-based learning and instruction. Student program leaders are expected to have good communication skills and an ability to interact well with others, especially children. Also, student staff members must possess a genuine interest and at least some familiarity with local flora and fauna and the natural history of the region.

If you are interested in joining the staff at the Center and would like more information about this job opportunity, then please contact the Program Supervisor, Rick Simek, via e-mail (rsimek@umd.umich.edu) or by calling (313) 583-6371.
