Dodworth Saxhorn Concert & Ice Cream Social
Please accept this invitation to join us on Thursday, September 12 at 3:30 p.m. for a special concert featuring the Civil War Brass Ensemble "The Dodworth Saxhorn Band". An interactive dialogue and ice cream social will proceed the performance. The event is scheduled to take place on the University Center Patio (between CASL and the UC).
This concert is a celebration of Patriot Day and Henry Ford's 150th Birthday. The band uses period instruments and dresses in period costume to give their audience a taste of American life in the 1860s. The members of the ensemble are well versed in the history of the music they play and present the historical context of each piece prior to performing it. Additional information about the band can be found via their website.
This event is sponsored by the Music History Department, The Department of Literature, Philosophy and the Arts, the American Studies Department, the Student Activities Board and the Office for Student Engagement.
