Summer Banding 1998
RRBO banded on 9 days in July and August, banding 112 new birds and handling 29 recaps of 26 species.  Here's the summary:
 
American Woodcock - 1 One of a group that nested this year
Downy Woodpecker - 6 + 2 recaps 3 were youngsters ("hatching year" or HY)
Hairy Woodpecker - 1 On  HY
Eastern Wood-pewee - 1 HY
"Traill's" Flycatcher - 1 Probably Willow, one was singing thru June
Warbling Vireo - 1  
Red-eyed Vireo - 3 + 1 One was a recapture originally from 1995!
Black-capped Chickadee - 7  
Carolina Wren - 1  
House Wren - 1  
Wood Thrush - 5 + 4 One was an HY from the only successful nest in our study
American Robin - 24  
Gray Catbird - 44 + 15 20 were HY
Brown Thrasher - 1 HY
Cedar Waxwing -2  
Yellow Warbler - 6 + 2 4 were from a nest in the area
Canada Warbler - 1 A late migrant
Song Sparrow - 6  
Northern Cardinal - 2  
Rose-breasted Grosbeak - 1 A recap
Indigo Bunting - 1 A nesting female
Red-winged Blackbird - 10 + 1  
Brown-headed Cowbird - 4 +2 Saw Red-eyed Vireos feeding a cowbird this year 
Balitimore Oriole - 4 3 were HY
House Finch - 1  
American Goldfinch - 3 +1
