December 2002:25 Dec: The Gray Catbird made another appearance today.
24 Dec: Remarkable for winter was a Gray Catbird today in the Craves yard. On campus, an American Black Duck on the Rouge River was a good find, as they have been increasingly rare in the last few years. Also found was a Brown Creeper and two Yellow-shafted Flickers.
18 Dec: A Chukar or Red-legged Partridge was seen in Dearborn Heights, escaped from captivity.
17 Dec: A flock of 65 Snow Geese flew over Dearborn Heights.
8 Dec: Fox Sparrows continue to be seen at a local feeder. At least four White-throated Sparrows are wintering at the EIC feeders.
4 Dec: A Fox Sparrow was found in an east Dearborn yard today.
November:
23 Nov: Another Northern Saw-whet Owl is banded, and while out at 1:30 AM checking the nets, the banders heard a Sora calling on our lake.
12 Nov: Many Slate-colored Juncos banded today, including one originally banded on 14 Nov 2001. A group of 10-12 Bonaparte's Gulls were at the Ford air conditioning ponds on Village Road in west Dearborn.
