Peregrine Falcon | October-November, the same bird, once joined by a second, along concrete channel |

Dunlin | 2 Nov, along concrete channel. Only second recent record. |

Northern Mockingbird | One on campus on 21 May was a migrant, our resident mocker from l996-97 in east Dearborn was last seen in fall |

Yellow-breasted Chat | A good year for chats, with 5 birds |

Summer Tanager | 31 May-3 Jun: A female found the bee yard made an excellent cafeteria |

Blue Grosbeak | A probable female near the concrete channel on 19 April was never refound, but a male seen on 18 May on campus was accepted by the Michigan Bird Records Committee. There were several sightings of Blue Grosbeaks in the region this spring. First Dearborn record |

Vesper Sparrow | 2 Apr: singles seen at Greenfield Village and on campus; 17 Oct at the Village. A species becoming scarce in the city. |

Winter finches | Purple Finch banded in September-October weren't unusual, but an Evening Grosbeak flying over on 11 Oct was the first of a good invasion winter. Pine Siskins were first seen 25 Oct. A few White-winged Crossbills showed up in late Nov-early Dec, followed by Common Redpolls, still being seen at year's end. |
